Technical Requirements

• Core Skills:
• Python – strong proficiency required (rated “high”).
• Apache Spark – ability to write jobs, tune performance (partitioning, joins, memory), and handle multiple small projects.
• SQL – strong query and data manipulation skills.
• Hadoop – primary environment (on-premises, not cloud-based).
• ETL Work:
• Building new pipelines (leveraging existing frameworks).
• Maintaining and optimizing current pipelines.
• Data extraction, joins, and modeling depending on client needs.
• Background Flexibility:
• Candidates from any domain are acceptable.
• Financial/banking experience not required, but exposure to transaction data is considered a plus.
• Experience with data lake or distributed database environments is acceptable.

Role Scope

• Work will involve multiple small projects rather than one large initiative.
• Responsibilities include:
• Writing Spark jobs for data extraction and transformation.
• Performance tuning and optimization.
• Supporting both new pipeline development and existing pipeline maintenance.
