Part-Time Primary Teacher

Job Summary

Prestige School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Temporary Part-Time Primary Teacher to support our afternoon program from May 6 through June 12, 2026, working Monday through Thursday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at a rate of $18–$20 per hour.

This short-term position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with primary-aged students (Kindergarten–Grade 2) in a supportive, small-class environment. The successful candidate will have experience working with young children, strong communication and classroom management skills, and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.

While Ontario Certified

Teacher (OCT) certification is considered an asset, it is not required; however, previous experience working with primary-aged students is essential.

The role includes supporting students with literacy and numeracy activities, assisting with homework, leading enrichment activities, and collaborating with staff to ensure a positive and productive afternoon program.

Responsibilities

• Support students during afternoon academic and enrichment activities
• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning activities for primary students (Kindergarten–Grade 2)
• Provide homework assistance and reinforce literacy and numeracy skills
• Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff
• Supervise students during classroom and transition times
• Follow school policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged students (Kindergarten–Grade 2) required
• Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) certification is an asset but not required
• Educational background in teaching, Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Work, or related field considered an asset
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Experience with inquiry-based or IB programs is considered an asset

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
