Production Forklift Driver (Freezer)

The company specializes in processing and marketing freshwater fish harvested from the Great Lakes and other Canadian, U.S. and European freshwater fisheries. Presteve supplies fresh and frozen fish – whether whole, dressed, filleted or breaded / battered – to wholesalers, distributors and retail customers in the USA and Canada, under both its own brand and private label.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Forklift Driver is responsible for loading and unloading product, handling materials, label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments; and support all production needs.

Hours of Work:

Typical work week is Monday – Friday 6:30am- 3:30pm, Saturday (7:00am-12:00pm) (+/-) and ability to work overtime when required.

Job Responsibilities:

· Learn NAV system and create product labels.

· Assist in the loading of trucks when necessary.

· Ensure all production areas are kept clean.

· Responsible for pallet and tote organization.

· Responsible for dumping and rinsing totes.

· Move totes in and out of coolers, freezers, and plant.

· Disposal of all interior and exterior garbage/recycling.

· Ensure lift truck safety and circle checks are completed daily.

· Wash and rotate lift trucks on a weekly basis.

· Create and promote a team environment with effective communication.

· Adhere to Food Safety, Health & Safety standards.

· A willingness to develop, desire to learn and be trained in other areas.

· Assist in all areas of the plant as needed.

· Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

· Minimum 1 year forklift operating experience.

· We are looking for those with the initiative to work hard and learn our processes.

· Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.

· Able to receive and follow instructions.

· Highschool Diploma, GED or equivalent considered an asset

Physical Abilities:

· Employee must be able to lift 80lbs.

· Employee must be able to bend, lift and twist.

· Employee must be physically fit to operate a forklift.

· Must be able to work in a cold environment
