Job Description

PrecisionERP/IT, a Canadian staffing and consulting company, is hiring a Senior Database Developer/DBA with strong expertise in Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL, along with working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server for 6-8 month hybrid CONTRACT (2 days onsite required) starting in March here in Etobicoke, ON.

DUTIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures in ETL application & DW packages.
  • Develop and optimize PL/SQL packages, triggers, and functions for Oracle databases.
  • Write efficient SQL queries and scripts for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Development of programs/packages/procedures/functions in Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server databases.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with application developers and business analysts to support data-driven solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, test, and production environments.
  • Document database architecture, processes, and configurations for compliance and auditing.
  • The position involves majority of time in development & testing and very less time of DBA activities like installation of database software and creation/maintenance of databases.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of experience in Oracle Database and PL/SQL programming.
  • Proficiency in SQL and query optimization techniques.
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and indexing strategies.
  • Understanding backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and normalization techniques.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Exposure to BI tools and data warehousing concepts (ETL framework).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP).
  • Experience in working with Telecom Inventory system and Telecom performance data.
  • MUST be able to work 2 days in Etobicoke office, 3 days WFH
