Job Description

Pratham International is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Research & Analytics team at its subsidiary in India, PULS Pvt. Ltd. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in utilizing data-driven insights to guide programmatic decisions and address complex social challenges in the education and development sector. Your responsibilities will involve conducting rigorous analyses, collaborating across teams, and presenting findings to various stakeholders in a clear manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project-level data operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Conduct regular analyses to support program design, monitoring, and decision-making.
• Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to identify patterns and predictors of educational outcomes.
• Develop and assess predictive models with a focus on fairness, interpretability, and program relevance.
• Lead data wrangling and cleaning tasks including SQL queries, API calls, and survey datasets.
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and documentation for reproducibility.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, or Python-based platforms.
• Translate technical findings into actionable insights for program, content, and management teams.
• Collaborate with the AI/ML team for advanced modeling or deployment requirements.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Research Methodologies, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python with a strong grasp of standard data science packages such as numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, and matplotlib.
• Solid foundations in statistics and probability.
• Ability to implement supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods and key components of the data pipeline.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
