AI / Machine Learning Engineer (IRS / Treasury) with Security Clearance

Location: Hybrid / Washington DC Metro Area Employment Type: Full-Time Clearance: Ability to obtain IRS staff-like access / MBI Clearance Position Overview: Praescient Analytics is seeking an AI / Machine Learning Engineer to design, develop, and deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions supporting IRS modernization efforts. This role focuses on integrating AI capabilities into APIs and production systems while collaborating closely with engineering and data teams. This position requires U.S. citizenship. The role will be hybrid with work locations in Washington, DC or Lanham, MD. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop AI/ML models and services using modern frameworks
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain models in production environments via APIs
• Support AI-driven automation for software development and testing
• Build and maintain data pipelines supporting AI workflows
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into AI solutions
• Ensure AI systems are scalable, secure, and reliable Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or machine learning
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Knowledge of NLP and large language models (LLMs)
• Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Docker, cloud platforms)
• Experience deploying models via SageMaker, Vertex AI, or custom APIs (e.g., FastAPI)
• US Citizenship and the ability to undergo an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI). Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with generative AI, RAG, or LLM fine-tuning
• Open-source contributions
