The Opportunity:
Working remotely in Huron County and Southwestern Ontario with others in the Exeter Lakeshore Times Advance and Goderich Signal-Star newsrooms, the ideal candidate is an enterprising self-starter and team player with a sense for stories that resonate with Huron County's diverse readership. The candidate should be able to cultivate sourcesandfindinteresting community-focusedstorieswhile writingin a way that is clear,concise and engaging.
What you'll do
- Reporting andwritingstories for print,weband mobile audiences – as well as tailoring content to meet the varying needs of those platforms.
- Initiating and developing ideas fordaily coverage,enterprisestoriesand investigative projects.
- Cultivating sources andestablishingexpertisetoprovidea broad range ofstoriesthat reflect

- Taking photographs toillustratelocal events and complement news stories
Who you are
- A university degree, collegediplomaor equivalent real-world experience in journalism.
- Flexibility to write effectively in breaking news, features and shortformis essential.
- Akeen interest in community journalism is critic alto the role.
- Experience in photography is an asset.
Compensation
Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location.
Pay Rate: $34,230 - $42,000
