Our multi-specialty private practice is currently seeking two (2) Medical Assistants with experience working with Pulmonary and/or Sleep Medicine practitioners. Ideal candidates possess strong clinical, communicative, and interpersonal skills and have the ability to proficiently carry out duties in a timely, caring, and collaborative manner.

Our Pulm and Sleep providers operate together out of offices within 15 minutes of each other in the City of Falls Church and at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA. Our Medical Assistants alternate between the sites based on their assigned provider's schedule for the day.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Rooming patients in professional and timely manner to ensure optimum workflow.

Checking vitals and taking medical histories.

Performing a variety of task such as spirometry, oxygen titration, cleaning masks, etc.

Administering medications and giving injections as directed by the physicians.

Helping patients understand the treatment plan given by their doctors.

Managing orders, prior authorizations, and prescription refill requests.

Updating patient charts and responding to clinical voicemails and messages.

Preparing exam rooms and ensuring supplies are properly stocked.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1 year of recent experience as a full-time Medical Assistant responsible for taking vitals and medical histories, administering medications, and using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Proficiency with office computers, basic software, and Internet applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience with pulmonary and sleep disorders.

Prior experience with the athenaOne EHR.

Knowledge of the prior authorization process.

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CCMA or CMA)

CPR certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50 - $23.00 per hour
