Job Title: Junior Event Planner / Administrative Assistant (VA OSDBU Support Contract)

Place of Performance: On-site at 801 I Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001

About the Role: Are you organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about coordinating impactful events? Join Platinum Business Services LLC supporting VA's Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) events that connect small businesses with federal opportunities.

This mid-junior position (3-5 years experience) provides essential administrative and logistical support for VA OSDBU's small business outreach events—both virtual and in-person. You'll work under Senior Event Planners to execute 6-10 events monthly using established Government templates and processes. Perfect for detail-oriented professionals who excel at stakeholder coordination, virtual meeting facilitation, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Event Logistics: Schedule 6-10 monthly virtual/in-person events (4-8 hours each); maintain agendas, run-of-show docs, speaker coordination, and registrations.

Virtual Facilitation: Run Cisco WebEx/MS Teams events—polls, chat moderation, breakout rooms, screen sharing, recordings, post-event surveys.

Admin & Reporting: Track metrics in Excel/SharePoint/Planner; draft emails, flyers, status reports, and After-Action Reports (AARs).

Stakeholder Support: Monitor OSDBU inbox, log CRM inquiries (3-day response SLA), prepare conference approvals.

Marketing Assistance: Update GovDelivery/LinkedIn posts; customize 8-12 monthly promo messages from templates.

Hours of Operation & Schedule

VA OSDBU Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Eastern Time (Monday-Friday, excluding U.S. Federal Holidays).

Work Schedule: Max 80 hours per federal pay period (average 40 hours/week). Typical 8-hour days. Flextime: start no earlier than 6:00 AM ET, no later than 9:00 AM ET.

Required Qualifications

3-5 years event coordination, administrative support, or customer-facing experience.

Bachelor's degree required (Business, Communications, Administration, or related field preferred).

Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Planner, SharePoint.

Cisco WebEx proficiency (polls, recording, breakout rooms).

Strong written/verbal communication for professional correspondence.

U.S. citizenship required for federal contract work.

Preferred Qualifications

Government, nonprofit, or association event experience.

CRM systems, GovDelivery, or event registration platforms.

Customer service handling email/phone inquiries.
