As a Senior Industrial Engineer at our client's leading manufacturing firm, your role will be crucial in driving operations excellence initiatives. You will play a central part in enhancing productivity, optimizing workflows, and implementing lean manufacturing principles across production facilities. Your responsibilities will include analyzing complex operational data, identifying inefficiencies, and developing practical, data-driven solutions to improve overall performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and propose efficiency improvement solutions using industrial engineering methodologies.
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S to reduce waste and enhance quality.
- Design and optimize factory layouts, material flow, and production line balancing to maximize throughput and minimize costs.
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality in production.
- Utilize simulation software and statistical tools to model, analyze, and predict the impact of process changes.
- Collaborate with production, quality control, and engineering teams to implement process improvements and ensure successful adoption.
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard times for operations and enhance labor productivity.
- Develop performance metrics and dashboards to monitor key operational indicators and track progress towards goals.
- Train and mentor plant personnel on new processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to achieve operational excellence targets.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in industrial engineering and manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on manufacturing environments.
- Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in process simulation software, CAD tools, and statistical analysis software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and implement change management strategies.
- Experience in capacity planning, production scheduling, and inventory management is a plus.
