Lead Network Engineer

Piper Companies is looking for a Lead Network Engineer to support a major organization within the technology and infrastructure services sector. This position is onsite in Newtown, PA, where the Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting large‑scale enterprise network environments while collaborating closely with internal engineering groups.

Responsibilities of the Lead Network Engineer include:

• Deliver hands‑on support for day‑to‑day network operations, including issue resolution, escalation handling, and coordination with global engineering counterparts.
• Contribute to improving network designs and assist in planning incremental architectural enhancements across routing, switching, and Software‑Defined Access (SDA) solutions.
• Build and oversee an in‑house lab environment used to verify multi‑region SDA capabilities and test various deployment‑specific network scenarios.
• Participate in change control processes by evaluating maintenance activities, preparing configuration updates, and engaging in scheduled maintenance or upgrade windows.
• Provide ongoing technical expertise, including incident support, root‑cause investigations, and informal knowledge‑sharing sessions for operations personnel.

Qualifications for the Lead Network Engineer include:

• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience working with Cisco DNAC/Catalyst Center for provisioning, monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Cisco Software‑Defined Access, including LISP, fabric components, segmentation, and DNAC/ISE interoperability.
• Working experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series switches (9200CX, 9300, 9500, 9600).
• Solid understanding of IPv4/IPv6 routing technologies such as BGP, IS‑IS, and OSPF.
• Preferred experience with IPv4/IPv6 multicast or automation/scripting tools such as Python, Ansible, or Robot Framework.

Compensation for the Lead Network Engineer:

• Salary Range: $150,000-$165,000/year (USD)
• Full Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, legally required sick leave, and 401(k).
