As the Senior Director of Technical Program Management, Monetization, you will be responsible to execute Pinterest’s multi-year strategy to scale demand and deliver delightful, relevant ad products for users and advertisers. This leader will drive strategic alignment and program execution across highly matrixed, cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Sales, Product Marketing Management, Data Science, and Design, to define sequencing, manage dependencies, remove ambiguity, and ensure consistent delivery against business-critical outcomes. You will also partner closely with Ads leadership and go-to-market teams to expand and adapt monetization strategies for international markets, ensuring strong global product-market fit. Success in this role requires exceptional people leadership and organizational influence, a strong foundation in technical program management and operating rigor, and the ability to set and track outcome-based metrics (e.g., revenue, ROAS) while institutionalizing scalable experimentation and best-in-class TPM practices.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and drive execution of a 3-year monetization strategy to scale demand and improve ad relevance and performance for users and advertisers.
  • Create strategic alignment and operating rhythm across cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Sales, PMM, Data Science, Design), including sequencing, dependencies, and shared accountability.
  • Partner with Ads leadership, PMM, and Sales GTM to expand and adapt monetization strategy for international markets to ensure global product-market fit.
  • Lead the Monetization TPM team to deliver full-funnel performance capabilities, industry-compatible interfaces, platform integrations, and AI-first tooling.
  • Set and track KPIs/OKRs tied to business outcomes (e.g., ROAS, revenue) and institutionalize scalable experimentation practices.
  • Remove ambiguity and unblock delivery across multiple parallel, high-priority initiatives; communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs with executive stakeholders.
  • Build, coach, and retain a high-performing TPM org; standardize and elevate TPM craft and best practices across Monetization.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strategic leadership & vision: Proven ability to define and drive long-range, cross-functional strategies and translate them into executable programs with measurable outcomes.
  • Large-scale program leadership: Expertise leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives across highly matrixed orgs spanning engineering, product, and go-to-market partners.
  • People leadership & org building: Experience managing managers, building high-bar TPM teams, coaching leaders, and fostering an accountable, inclusive culture of delivery excellence.
  • Strong technical acumen: Ability to engage deeply on architectural tradeoffs and execution across APIs, data, and AI systems (deep Pinterest-stack knowledge can be developed on the job).
  • Monetization and ad tech understanding (preferred): Familiarity with digital advertising ecosystems and performance marketing; ability to learn quickly and apply that knowledge to Pinterest’s context.
  • Executive communication & influence: Strong written and verbal communication skills, executive presence, and ability to align senior stakeholders through ambiguity and change.
  • Change management + metrics orientation: Track record of leading transformation (including AI-first workflows) and operating with clear KPIs/OKRs and experimentation-driven iteration.
