We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Licensed Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with hands-on experience in LC-MS/MS toxicology testing. The ideal candidate will have experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Agilent LC-MS/MS instrumentation, performing specimen preparation, reviewing quality control data, and supporting high-complexity clinical toxicology testing in a CLIA-regulated laboratory environment. Experience with Agilent MassHunter software is strongly preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform specimen preparation and extraction for urine, oral fluid, and other toxicology specimens.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot Agilent LC-MS/MS systems.
- Analyze toxicology samples for drugs of abuse, pain management, and therapeutic drug monitoring panels.
- Review calibration curves, quality control data, and analytical results for accuracy and acceptability.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance and document all laboratory activities.
- Assist with method validation, verification, and assay optimization projects.
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and laboratory quality standards.
- Participate in proficiency testing, quality assurance initiatives, and continuous process improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with laboratory leadership to ensure timely turnaround of patient results.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current state license as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent laboratory credential, as required by state regulations.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience.
- Experience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation in a clinical, forensic, or toxicology laboratory.
- Strong understanding of quality control, calibration, and laboratory documentation.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Agilent 6400-series or equivalent LC-MS/MS platforms.
- Experience with Agilent MassHunter software.
- Knowledge of toxicology testing, drugs of abuse panels, and confirmation testing.
- Experience in a CLIA-certified high-complexity laboratory.
