Junior Backend Engineer

Description

Join our team as an enthusiastic and highly organized Junior Backend Engineer , crucial for implementing our global mobile event platform . You will collaborate with Project Managers, designers, and skilled web and mobile engineers developing applications for iOS, Android, and other platforms.

This role focuses on managing data feeds, executing API integrations, and ensuring the successful delivery of client applications. You will support multiple client projects simultaneously. Ideal candidates are highly organized, exceptional multi-taskers who thrive in dynamic environments, and possess outstanding communication skills.

This is a full-time remote position requiring work during Pacific Standard Timezone hours. Candidates must reside in Canada and possess valid working status.

What You'll Do

• Analyze documentation and endpoints for 3rd party APIs.
• Develop code for managing app schedule and attendee data.
• Utilize Git / Bitbucket for application version control.
• Implement client-requested changes and updates.
• Gather statistics and data reports for clients.
• Provide technical support to Producers during client calls.
• Offer client support, including potential onsite or on-call assistance.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, scrum sessions, and standups.
• Configure 3rd party applications for integration with ongoing projects.
• Gain opportunities for growth in backend engineering, including contributing to our core API.
• Learn new languages like Python and contribute to our expanding microservices architecture.
• Engage in architectural meetings, learn from technical experts, and contribute ideas for platform evolution.

What You Bring

• 13 years of experience in Backend Web Development. Recent graduates with exceptional co-op, internship, or similar experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree or relevant experience.
• Technical proficiency in SQL, databases, and data manipulation , or a strong aptitude for learning these tools.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages; PHP experience is a plus.
• Genuine interest in mobile app technology.
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail, prioritizing security, privacy, and efficiency.
• Self-motivated team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
• A desire to innovate and learn cutting-edge technologies.
• Experience with Python is beneficial.
