The Opportunity

Explores all aspects of a customer's experience, establishing a complete understanding of their needs and preferences through a variety of tools and techniques, including extensive market research, ethnographic research, and usability translating research into actionable user insights for clients, designers, developers, and other stakeholders. Applies leading‑edge principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Works on unusually complex problems and provides highly innovative solutions. Operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Mentors or supervises employees in both company and technical competencies.

You Have

  • 10+ years of experience in UX design, product design, service design, or digital strategy
  • Experience leading end-to-end product design from discovery through delivery and designing enterprise tools, dashboards, workflows, or data-heavy applications
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, alignment sessions, and discovery engagements
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with product managers, engineers, executives, and business stakeholders
  • Experience translating complex requirements into intuitive user experiences through prototypes, wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs
  • Experience balancing user needs, business priorities, technical constraints, and timelines
  • Experience contributing to or establishing design systems, frameworks, and reusable patterns
  • Experience presenting recommendations and design rationale to senior leadership
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Communications, or Information Science

Nice If You Have

  • Experience with product strategy, prioritization, roadmap planning, and opportunity framing
  • Experience with agile product development processes and iterative delivery models
  • Knowledge of metrics such as adoption, task success, efficiency, satisfaction, and product outcomes
  • Knowledge of design systems and component-based product ecosystems
  • Ability to identify where AI can improve workflows while protecting user trust and clarity
  • Ability to mentor junior designers and elevate design maturity across teams
  • Ability to lead stakeholders from competing opinions to aligned decisions
  • ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Human-Centered Design, or UX Research Certification

Compensation

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
