Refrig-Hvac Apprentice

Overview

We are seeking an Refrig-Hvac Apprentice to join our team.

The applicant should have knowledge and experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of heating and air conditioning units, commercial refrigeration units, refrigeration systems and appliances.

This role will involve work for projects both within construction and maintenance settings. The ideal candidate will use their mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair/ and install various systems and equipment.

Duties

• Install, service, and repair:

-refrigeration systems and units across commercial setting

-heating and air conditioning systems across commercial settings

-restaurant refrigeration units and equipment

-boiler systems, chillers, & industrial units

• Perform routine maintenance on HVACR units to ensure efficiency and longevity
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Use of manuals, schematics
• Plumbing and welding tasks related to HVACR system installation or repair projects
• Maintain detailed records of service activities and system performance
• Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or upgrades
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards

Experience

• Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or Mechanic with a solid understanding of HVACR systems
• Hands-on experience with plumbing, welding, and appliance repair preferred
• Familiarity with schematics reading and technical manuals
• Ability to operate various tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Experience in the following is an asset:
• working in construction or maintenance environments

-working with boiler systems

-working with appliance repair

• The following licenses/ certifications are an asset:

-Refrigeration and air conditioning systems mechanic 313A

-Gas fitters: G2

-Working at heights

-MEWP (mobile elevated work platforms)

Candidates should demonstrate technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
