SOC / Security Analyst

Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a SOC/Security Analyst to support Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with DCO AI Cyber Security Support.

Location: Fort Meade, MD.

In this role, you will monitor security systems, analyze alerts, and respond to security incidents to protect DCDC analytic infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM and security tools for threats
• Analyze security alerts and events
• Conduct log analysis and correlation
• Support incident detection and response
• Perform vulnerability scanning and analysis
• Maintain security monitoring documentation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
• Current Security+, CySA+, or equivalent IA cybersecurity certification
• Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, ELK)
• Knowledge of security monitoring and alerting
• Log analysis and correlation skills
• Understanding of attack patterns and indicators
• Incident response experience
• U.S Citizenship required
• DoD TS with ability to obtain/maintain SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field
• 8 years of relevant experience

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
