Lead Data Engineer / SME

Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Lead Data Engineer / SME to support Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with leading the Analytic Development Team to build and maintain the DODIN data foundation through data engineering, pipeline management, and analytics integration. Location: Fort Meade, MD.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• Lead team of 7 engineers and developers
• Architect ETL processes and data integration solutions
• Oversee API and data services development for JCWA systems
• Implement SchemaOne standards and data quality controls
• Guide DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Manage enterprise data flows between DASC, DAOs, and partners

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 16 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 14 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 10 years with Ph.D.
• Expert proficiency in Python, SQL, and pipeline frameworks (Airflow, NiFi)
• Strong experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization
• Knowledge of API development and microservices
• 4+ years leading technical teams
• U.S Citizenship required
• TS with ability to obtain/maintain SCI

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS/Azure/GCP certifications
• Master's degree preferred in Computer Science or Data Engineering (Bachelor's degree required)

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
