Job Description

About Pantheon

Pantheon is the WebOps platform for websites that deliver extraordinary results. We believe in putting the magic of the internet in everyone's hands. That's why we're so passionate about helping developers, IT and marketing develop, test, and release website changes faster and more reliably so they can build and maintain websites that create value for their organizations. Our cloud native software makes it easy to securely manage a single website or thousands of websites across multiple teams in one platform.

Pantheon's core company values are Trust, Teamwork, Passion, and Customers First. At Pantheon, we work hard and play harder, valuing individuality, humor, and balance. We're enthusiastic participants in several open-source communities and have real relationships with many of our most active customers. If all of this sounds interesting to you, read on!

The Role

Pantheon is looking for a Product Manager II to join our driven and highly collaborative Product Management team. This role is centered on Developer Experience, focusing on how developers build, test, and deploy websites on Pantheon's WebOps platform.

Reporting to the Director of Product, Platform & Developer Experience, you'll own the tools and workflows that help developers go from onboarding to their first meaningful commit—and everything that makes them productive after that. This includes our version control integrations, CLI, build systems, and local development experience.
You'll work closely with engineering, design, and our developer community to deeply understand how developers work and where we can remove friction. If you've ever felt the pain of a clunky CI pipeline, fought with Git integrations, or wished your dev environment "just worked," this role is your chance to fix those problems for thousands of developers.

What You Need to Succeed

Own the Developer Workflow Roadmap

  • Define and prioritize features that reduce time-to-first-commit and improve ongoing developer productivity
  • Conduct market research and gather feedback to understand developer needs, pain points, and workflows
  • Develop a roadmap that balances immediate improvements with longer-term investments in developer experience
  • Align priorities with company objectives and coordinate with adjacent product areas (Platform, Preview & Portfolio)

Build and Optimize Developer Tooling

  • Drive improvements to our GitHub integration and expand support for external version control systems
  • Collaborate with engineering to enhance our CLI (Terminus), API, and build systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve local development environments and reduce reliance on full build loops
  • Explore how emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development, can enhance the developer workflow

Deeply Understand Our Developers

  • Engage directly with developers to understand how they work and what slows them down
  • Collaborate with User Research to conduct interviews, surveys, and usability studies
  • Translate qualitative feedback and quantitative data into clear product requirements
  • Use insights to iterate on features and continuously improve the developer experience

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Work closely with engineering, design, and developer relations to ship high-quality features
  • Partner with customer support to identify pain points and resolve developer issues
  • Communicate product updates and roadmap to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with adjacent teams (Platform, Preview & Portfolio) on shared dependencies and integrations

What You Bring to the Table

Must-Haves

  • 3–5 years of B2B SaaS product management experience
  • Deep familiarity with Git workflows, branching strategies, and code review processes
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and how code moves from commit to deploy
  • Experience with developer tools products (CLIs, APIs, SDKs, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Next.js or modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to engage meaningfully in architectural discussions
  • Excellent written communication skills—you can write clear specs, async updates, and documentation
  • A data-driven approach to decision-making, balanced with strong product intuition
  • Genuine curiosity about how developers work and passion for improving their experience

Strong Preferences

  • Background as a software engineer, or actively building software (especially web development)
  • Experience specifically with developer tools (vs. general platform products)
  • Experience with WordPress, Drupal, or CMS ecosystems

Nice-to-Haves
