About the Role
We are seeking a talented and driven Scientist specializing in Immunoassay development to play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing novel biochemical assays for our lab-developed test and point-of-care devices. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, where you'll collaborate with internal teams and potentially academic partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Assay Validation & Optimization: Design and execute rigorous validation studies focusing on analytical sensitivity, specificity, reproducibility, and limit of detection/quantification.
- Matrix Interference Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex matrix effects within human biofluids, identifying root causes of background signals and optimizing blocking strategies to ensure high performance across variable operating ranges.
- Antiboy Integration: Characterize and evaluate monoclonal antibodies for platform integration, transitioning from polyclonal formats to improve assay performance and scalability.
- Multi-Analyte Development: Validate the accuracy and precision of integrated detection lines (such as creatinine normalization) to improve longitudinal biomarker measurement.
- Collaborative R&D: Work closely with Biomedical Data Engineers to calibrate computer vision models and supervise junior staff/interns to ensure high-quality data output.
- Documentation & Quality: Maintain meticulous laboratory records in accordance with GLP and develop SOPs for validation and testing protocols.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Strong background in immunoassay development and antibody characterization is mandatory.
- Strong experience troubleshooting with immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, EIA) is crucial.
- Demonstrated expertise in the development and optimization of Lateral Flow Assays (LFAs) is essential.
- Proven ability in assay optimization, with a deep understanding of factors affecting sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex experimental issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific data clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
