What You'll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications):

To qualify for the Software Engineer position within the Database Technologies organization, candidates must meet the following Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs):

  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Must complete a Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related science/engineering field by June 2026.
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Java, capable of independently completing coding projects.
  • Ability to implement sophisticated algorithms and data structures in highly complex systems with the utmost quality.
  • Completed coursework, projects, internships, or research in three or more of the following areas:
  • Computer Architecture / Software Architecture
  • Distributed Systems
  • Database Systems / Database Internals (Storage Engine)
  • Multithreaded/Multicore programming/Concurrent programming
  • Parallel Programming
  • Operating Systems Concepts
  • Completed at least one internship, research assistantship, teaching assistantship, or equivalent hands-on experience in relevant technical domains.
  • Must reside in the United States and/or attend a university located in the US.

About You (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Responsibilities

The Database Engineering Team is responsible for the full stack development of a range of databases including Oracle NoSQL Database, Oracle Times-Ten In-Memory Database, and the leading Oracle Database itself. This team works on critical aspects such as distributed databases, scalability, high availability, security, analytics, data warehousing, and more. They also develop in-database machine learning and AI algorithms to enhance customer operations and contribute to the autonomy of our products.

Some US customer-facing roles may need to adhere to specific requirements such as health mandates.

The expected salary range for this role is between $73,700 to $158,200 per annum, possibly including bonus and equity opportunities. Oracle offers a broad salary range to reflect diverse knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.
