What You'll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications):

  • Visa sponsorship is unavailable for this role, indicating Oracle cannot provide US immigration support for this position now or in the future.
  • Completed a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field by August 2026.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages: C, C++, and Java.
  • Ability to implement complex algorithms and data structures in high-quality systems.
  • Completed coursework, projects, internships, or research in three or more of the following areas:
  • Computer Architecture / Software Architecture
  • Distributed Systems
  • Database Systems / Database Internals (Storage Engine)
  • Multithreaded/Multicore Programming/Concurrent Programming
  • Parallel Programming
  • Operating Systems Concepts
  • Experience from at least one internship, research assistantship, or teaching assistantship related to the noted fields.
  • Reside in the United States or attend a university in the US.
  • Ability to obtain work authorization in the US in 2026.

Responsibilities

The Database Engineering Team manages the full-stack development of various databases, including Oracle NoSQL Database, Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database, and Oracle Database itself. This group focuses on diverse areas such as distributed databases, scalability, high availability, security, analytics, and more. The team develops innovative in-database machine-learning and AI algorithms to enhance customer experiences and improve our products' autonomy. Additionally, the group works on Oracle Engineered Systems for unparalleled performance and availability.

Compensation Information:

US Hiring Range: $68,500 to $158,200 annually, subject to eligibility for bonuses and equity.
