Demand Planner

About the Role

Open Secret is looking for a sharp, data-driven Demand Planner to lead forecasting and inventory planning across our Quick Commerce (Q-Comm) and E-Commerce channels. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role sitting within the Growth team, at the intersection of supply chain, analytics, and commercial strategy.

You will own the end-to-end demand signal for Open Secret across dark store partners such as Blinkit,

Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and Big Basket NOW, as well as marketplace and DTC platforms — ensuring that the right SKU is available at the right place at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

1. Demand Forecasting

• Build and own weekly and monthly SKU-level demand forecasts for all Quick Commerce platforms.
• Leverage sell-out data, platform analytics dashboards, and historical trends to generate accurate forecasts.
• Model demand spikes from platform-led events (BBDs, flash sales, festival windows) and brand campaigns.
• Continuously improve forecast accuracy; track and report forecast error metrics by platform and category.

2. Platform & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with Category Managers and Key Account Managers of Q-Comm partners to align on demand signals and promotional calendars.
• Coordinate with the brand's sales, marketing, and trade marketing teams to incorporate visibility spends and deals into the forecast.
• Serve as the primary supply chain SPOC for Quick Commerce partners during high-demand events and escalation resolution.

3. S&OP Process

• Participate in and contribute to the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle.
• Present demand review findings to cross-functional leadership — highlighting risks, gaps, and opportunities by platform.
• Align consensus forecasts between sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain.

4. Analytics & Reporting

• Develop and maintain real-time dashboards tracking fill rates, forecast accuracy, service levels, and stock health across all Q-Comm partners.
• Identify demand patterns, seasonal trends, and channel cannibalization effects.
• Conduct root cause analysis on forecast errors and implement corrective actions.
• Generate insights on platform-level consumer behaviour to inform portfolio and range decisions.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Statistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain roles — preferably in

FMCG, D2C, or consumer goods.

• Hands-on experience with Quick Commerce platforms (Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Big Basket

NOW) — as an analyst, planner, or KAM.

• Proficiency in Excel (advanced) and Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong statistical and analytical thinking — comfortable building and interpreting demand models.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Forecast Accuracy — tracked by SKU, platform, and time horizon.
• Out-of-Stock (OOS) Rate — at dark store and FC level.
• Inventory Days on Hand (DOH) — maintained within agreed range.
• S&OP Cycle On-Time Completion and Consensus Forecast Sign-off.
