Job Description
Location: Nova Scotia (Remote or Hybrid)
Contract Type: Subcontractor
We are seeking an experienced Recruitment Consultant or Talent Acquisition Specialist with strong knowledge of the Nova Scotia labour market to support recruitment strategy development, talent sourcing, workforce planning, and hiring process improvement initiatives.
The successful consultant will provide local market expertise and advise on recruitment practices, talent availability, workforce trends, and candidate attraction strategies specific to Nova Scotia.
Key Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise on the Nova Scotia labour market and talent landscape.
Support recruitment planning and workforce attraction initiatives.
Conduct labour market research and talent availability assessments.
Advise on sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill positions.
Support recruitment process reviews and optimization initiatives.
Develop candidate attraction and employer branding recommendations.
Participate in stakeholder meetings and consultation sessions.
Provide insight into recruitment challenges and opportunities within Nova Scotia.
Assist with development of workforce planning and succession planning recommendations.
Contribute to proposal development and client deliverables as required.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of recruitment, talent acquisition, workforce planning, or HR consulting experience.
Demonstrated experience recruiting within Nova Scotia.
Strong understanding of provincial labour market trends and workforce challenges.
Experience supporting public sector, municipal, healthcare, crown corporation, education, or non-profit organizations.
Knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility principles in recruitment.
Experience developing recruitment strategies for specialized and hard-to-fill roles.
Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
Excellent report writing and presentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
CHRP, CHRL, CPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent designation.
Experience supporting executive, professional, technical, healthcare, or skilled trades recruitment.
Experience conducting workforce planning or organizational reviews.
Existing professional network within Nova Scotia's HR and recruitment community.
Previous consulting experience responding to government or public sector engagements.
