Linux Administrator

oCode Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on DigitalOcean. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying and managing production environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and scalability while supporting development teams with efficient DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) on DigitalOcean.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and health to ensure high uptime and reliability.
• Perform system upgrades, security patches, and vulnerability remediation.
• Manage backups, snapshots, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Automate infrastructure and server operations using shell scripting and automation tools.
• Configure and maintain web servers (Nginx, Apache) and database servers (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, security groups, and access controls.
• Enforce security best practices and compliance standards across environments.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Support development teams with infrastructure provisioning and deployment needs.
• Participate in cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and optimization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Linux Server Administrator.
• Strong hands-on experience with DigitalOcean (Droplets, Load Balancers, Volumes, Networking, Backups).
• In-depth knowledge of Linux systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat).
• Experience with Nginx, Apache, and database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and automation tools (Ansible, Python).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, and security best practices.
• Experience using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (DigitalOcean preferred).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Experience with GitOps workflows and deployment strategies.
• Understanding of Agile and DevOps best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
