We are building a world where any user can open an account to send and receive money globally without the friction of traditional banking.</p> <p>You will join a high-impact team expanding Nubank’s security and scale into the crypto market. Whether focusing on our core brokerage platform or fast-paced product iteration, your work will directly enable millions of users to engage with digital assets safely. This role is for those eager to solve complex architectural tradeoffs and redefine the boundaries of global money.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Architect</strong> scalable systems for the Crypto department, ensuring robust integration between crypto brokerage and core banking.</li> <li><strong>Lead</strong> the technical design of global features, managing complex tradeoffs between system performance and security.</li> <li><strong>Manage</strong> assets under custody and brokerage platforms to ensure high availability for global crypto transactions.</li> <li><strong>Partner</strong> with product teams to iterate on trading experiences, specifically tailored for high-engagement crypto profiles.</li> <li><strong>Mentor</strong> and influence engineering teams across the organization to uphold high standards of technical excellence.</li> <li><strong>Optimize</strong> global money movement solutions to provide free, real-time cross-border transactions for our users.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Track record</strong> of leading technical architecture in Staff or Lead Engineer capacities within complex software environments.</li> <li><strong>Demonstrated expertise</strong> in system design, with a focus on analyzing tradeoffs and long-term scalability.</li> <li><strong>Experience</strong> in high-stakes industries such as FinTech, Payments, or Core Banking systems.</li> <li><strong>Evidence</strong> of building and shipping high-throughput, distributed systems in a collaborative environment.</li> <li><strong>Strong commitment</strong> to learning and implementing crypto-based technologies and blockchain fundamentals.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prior experience in a crypto exchange or crypto-native company</li> <li>Practical experience with Solidity or smart contract development.</li> <li>Background in crypto trading or deep understanding of digital asset markets.</li> </ul> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]"><strong>Location &amp; Work Model</strong> This role is based in Toronto, Canada; or Durham, Palo Alto, or Miami, USA, on a hybrid model (2x/week) at our local offices.</p> <p><strong>Diversity &amp; Inclusion / Equal Opportunity</strong></p> <p>At Nubank, we believe that diversity is essential to building the best products and services.
