Job Description

Nox Metals is a technology company in Detroit supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.
We need an Inside Sales hire to be the engine that turns RFQs into shipped orders. Quotes out fast. Specs locked in tight. Orders pushed cleanly into production. Customers in the loop every step of the way. The inbox is the front door of the company and you own it. You will:
- Own inbound RFQs and quoting end to end, every quote out the door fast and accurate
- Estimate jobs in WAYNE, run nests, validate scrap, price the work, and turn it into a quote the customer can act on
- Translate customer drawings, specs, and POs into clean, complete jobs in NOX NEST
- Push orders into production with every detail right, alloy, temper, thickness, tolerances, cert requirements, ship date, packaging
- Work tightly with scheduling and the floor to commit dates we can hit and hit the dates we commit to
- Own the customer relationship inside the four walls, every email, every quote follow-up, every order confirmation, every status update
- Catch issues before they become problems, missing specs, mismatched POs, unrealistic dates, conflicting cert requirements
- Coordinate with quality, supply chain, and shipping on every order from open to delivered
- Work hand in hand with Outside Sales, you are the engine that lets them keep selling
- Capture every quote, every win, every loss in our CRM and quoting system, the data is the moat
- Always ask questions, never guess when something is unclear
- Look at every quote, every order, every workflow and figure out how to make it better
- Work safely every shift and hold your teammates to the same standard
You should be:
- Experience in inside sales, quoting, estimating, or customer service in metals, machine shops, manufacturing, or comparable industrial environments
- Strong technical fluency, you can read a drawing, talk alloys, tempers, tolerances, and lead times, and know what a part actually needs
- Skilled at quoting and estimating, every line item priced right, every assumption documented
- Cracked with AI tools, spreadsheets, modern software, and quoting tools, you live in our stack and you make it faster every week
- Tightly partnered with software teams in past roles, comfortable writing specs, filing tickets, and shaping the tools you use
- Comfortable on the phone, on email, and in customer portals all day, every day
- Sharp with numbers and detail oriented, every quote, every PO, every line right the first time
- High attention to quality, the quote, the order, the cert, the package
- Always thinking about how to make processes better, you do not accept "this is how we have always done it"
- Absolutely customer obsessed, you carry every customer's deadline like it is your own
- A team player with a good attitude, you make the company better for everyone around you
- Someone who takes ownership, if it is in your inbox or on your quote board, it is your responsibility
- Precise under pressure and reliable, customers count on the dates and prices you commit to
- Organized enough to juggle dozens of open quotes and orders without dropping one
- Committed to safety, you follow every protocol, wear your PPE on the floor, and never cut corners that put people at risk
- High agency, you handle big items alone and ask for help when needed
- Low ego, you walk the floor, you talk to operators, you do the unglamorous work because it needs to get done
- Not afraid to work outside normal hours when America demands it
- Never says "that's not my job"
Nice to have
- Background quoting metals, aluminum, or aerospace and defense components
- Experience with WAYNE-style nesting, quoting, or estimating tools
- Background reading mechanical drawings and GD&T
- Experience inside an aerospace or defense quoting environment, AS9100, DFARS, AMS, ASTM
- Forklift and/or overhead crane certification
- Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter
