THE ROLE:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Identify timely stories, trends, and cultural moments that resonate with our audience and translate them into compelling content
- Produce, edit, and publish short-form videos, typically under 90 seconds, from concept to final delivery
- Write scripts and edit videos with a strong sense of pacing, tone, and structure
- Help shape editorial framing and storytelling approaches across a range of topics
- May appear on camera as needed to support storytelling and audience engagement
- Collaborate with the team to ensure continuity between weekday and weekend coverage
- Ensure content meets standards for accuracy, sourcing, brand safety, and platform best practices
SUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE:
- You consistently identify timely, high-impact stories and translate them into content that performs
- You move quickly on news and cultural moments while maintaining accuracy and clarity
- Your framing makes complex issues feel accessible, engaging, and relevant to a social audience
- You exercise strong editorial judgment, including fact-checking, sourcing, brand safety awareness, and knowing when to escalate questions
- You collaborate effectively with teammates, providing thoughtful feedback that strengthens the work and builds trust
MUST HAVES:
- 5+ years producing social video, digital news, or similar content
- Strong editorial instincts and judgment, with a clear understanding of what’s worth covering and what’s not
- Deep understanding of content performance and audience engagement across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
- Ability to work independently and make decisions without a lot of oversight
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging scripts
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere and Canva
- Interest in political, social impact, or issue-based storytelling
