IT Technicians must diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware and software components for efficient system operation.

They are also responsible for configuring most internal computer hardware.

IT Technicians are usually the first point of contact for IT support within the company.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIT Technician duties and responsibilitiesDuties of an IT Technician may vary significantly according to the needs of the company.

IT Technicians interact with employees at both the coworker level and executive level, and manage a variety of advanced technology systems.

Main responsibilities and duties of an IT Technician may include:

Installing and configuring hardware and software componentsTroubleshooting hardware and software issuesRepairing or replacing damaged hardwareUpgrading systems to enable software compatibilityInstalling and upgrading anti-virus software and security systems to ensure network securityPerforming tests and evaluations on software and hardwareOffering information and support to usersMaintaining relationships with different employees and departmentsSkills RequiredKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and learning management systemsExcellent oral and written communication, presenting information so students understand and adapt to different learning styles.Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model.Qualifications/ SkillsSuitable to function well.

  • Hold a bachelor's degree from a Canadian University or an equivalent degree.
  • Graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent
