ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to QA Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and verifying the FSQA manufacturing and processing activities to ensure that our products are made in compliance with New School Foods standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
AS OUR QA COORDINATOR YOU WILL:
- Ensure ongoing compliance to product food safety and quality integrity by conducting line verifications, coordinating retain samples, controlling, assessing and investigating non-conformities
- Provide training to Operators for conducting Critical to Quality, Critical to Process, and Critical Control Point checks (e.g. moisture, conductivity, and X-ray checks)
- Verify procedures and records as per scheduled monitoring frequencies and per deviation protocols for non-conformances
- Perform scheduled plant inspections (e.g. GMP, Pre-Op, Glass), report findings, and track corrective actions
- Maintains and products reports and computer data entry of various information to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Work closely with the Production, Distribution, and R&D teams to ensure standard operating procedures, production forms, and matrices are reviewed and updated as required
- Perform verification of COAs, sampling and receiving of incoming raw materials
- Support the development of the ingredient database by reaching out to suppliers and obtaining required and relevant documentation
- Support root cause analysis on external (customer) complaints and internal non-conformances
- Support the execution of the site environmental monitoring programme through sample collection (e.g. swabbing)
- Supports and leads some aspects of third party audits, inspections, and customer-quality visits
- Supports the internal auditing programme
- Reports any issues or barriers encountered in the accomplishment of the duties above
- Fill in vacation coverage for quality technicians as required
YOU WILL BRING
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- University degree or college diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, or other related field
- Experienced in a recognized GFSI scheme (e.g. BRC, FSSC 22000, SQF)
- Strong understanding in GMPs, Product Safety and Security, Food Defense, and HACCP
- Effective oral and written communication skills and comfortable providing training
- Excellent computer skills and a working knowledge of SPC (Statistics Process Controls) applications and other data analytic tools
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct work with strong attention to detail
- Strong ability to problem-solve and and work independently and as a member of a team
- Able to work on rotational shifts (day and afternoon) and weekends as needed
