We are seeking an experienced

• *Backend Software Developer**

to join a team building a modern digital wellbeing platform designed to help organizations improve employee engagement and overall wellness. The platform leverages personalized insights, community-driven features, and evidence-based programs to support healthier and more productive workplaces.

In this role, you will design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs that power both web and mobile applications. You will collaborate with frontend developers, product teams, and DevOps engineers to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing backend solutions.

• *Key Responsibilities**
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using PHP and MySQL
• Build and optimize database schemas and queries to ensure high performance and scalability
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS infrastructure, including services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, and S3
• Contribute to system architecture discussions and help guide technical decision-making
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following modern development standards
• Implement unit testing, debug application issues, and troubleshoot production systems
• Apply secure coding practices and ensure backend systems meet security and compliance requirements
• Participate in peer code reviews and maintain version control using Git
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams in an agile development environment
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the backend architecture
• *Mandatory Skills & Qualifications**
• Minimum 5 years of professional backend development experience
• At least 3 years of hands-on PHP development experience in production environments
• Strong expertise in MySQL database design, query optimization, and performance tuning
• Experience building and deploying applications on AWS cloud platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• *Preferred Skills**
• Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or backend services
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails development
• Experience mentoring junior developers and sharing technical knowledge
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and deliverables
