Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in supporting aircraft systems installation and manufacturing process planning. Your attention to detail and expertise will contribute to the development of effective assembly processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Author build plans and installation processes for aircraft structural assemblies
- Develop and maintain work instructions for installation of components, systems, and assemblies
- Analyze and validate manufacturing processes, standards, and specifications to optimize process flow
- Create installation plans using tools such as CAPP, MES, Teamcenter, or ENOVIA
- Develop testing and inspection plans to ensure system functionality and quality compliance
- Conduct process audits and ensure adherence to defined manufacturing standards
- Identify production inefficiencies and recommend process or product improvements
- Implement and standardize work instructions for assembly operations
- Continuously review and enhance existing assembly processes
- Support implementation of safety procedures, including FOD prevention and handling non-conformances
- Assist in executing manufacturing plans and resolving technical issues
- Contribute to Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with quality management system requirements
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manufacturing challenges
Qualifications Required:
- 4+ years of experience in production or manufacturing engineering planning
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or assembly planning
- Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes
- Experience in creating manufacturing plans and authoring assembly work instructions
- Proficiency in drawing interpretation and GD&T;
- Understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems such as CAPP, MES, or PDM
- Working knowledge of CATIA or NX modeling tools
