Job Description
Nelson Mullins is seeking a Junior Corporate Associate to join its Communications, Internet, Technology & Privacy group in the Washington, DC office. As an AmLaw100 firm, this will offer a unique opportunity to a lateral associate who wants to be part of a dynamic and growing team.

Located along Constitution Avenue just across from the U.S. Capitol, the Washington office is staffed with individuals with years of experience at the forefront of political, business, litigation, regulatory, and diplomatic developments.
Understanding how government works and how it impacts the clients of Nelson Mullins is a key service that the Washington office provides. Nelson Mullins represents national and global clients with needs closely tied to the Administration, Congress, regulatory agencies, and the capital’s international organizations. Washington office corporate attorneys have transactional experience ranging from banking and securities regulation, including investment company and broker/dealer issues, to commercial real estate and affordable housing. Washington office litigation attorneys often represent clients in matters of federal agency law and telecommunications.
Representing clients around the country and the world, the firm and its Washington presence enhance our reputation as a full-service law firm. With an office in one of the world’s power centers, Nelson Mullins can serve as an advocate for clients from within its footprint and beyond.

You are a talented lawyer with one to two years of experience in communications law and a keen interest in internet dependent technologies and business models. You have experience working on an array of subject matters, including telecommunications, broadband and may have experience in consumer protection related issues such as telemarketing, data privacy and cybersecurity. You enjoy working in a team environment on projects that require excellent writing, analytical, advocacy, and interpersonal communication skills. Your intellectually curious nature and growth mindset are adaptable to serving a diverse group of clients ranging from start-ups to industry leaders. You are excited to practice law in Washington, D.C. and to contribute to work before the FCC and federal law enforcement agencies, state regulatory agencies, Congress, and the United States courts.
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience in communications law
- Admitted to, or eligible for admission to, the Bar of the District of Columbia
At Nelson Mullins, we are dedicated to transparent and fair compensation practices. Pay for this position is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
- The salary/wage range in Washington, DC is $185,000 - $195,000 annually
