From ground-breaking discoveries to a life-changing career, discover your possible at the NRC.The roleThe technical Advisor - Network Administrator is responsible for providing technical guidance and support to clients and internal teams on network infrastructure, security, and operations.

This role involves working with our Partners and clients to identify and address network-related challenges, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of NRC's IT environment.

The Network

Administrator also provides technical training and mentorship to internal teams to strengthen organizational network capabilities..The key activities for this position are the following:

  • Provide technical advice and guidance on network infrastructure management, security, and operations to clients and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network-related issues.
  • Develop and implement network management, monitoring, and security processes and procedures following industry best practices.
  • Conduct technical training sessions for internal teams on network infrastructure, troubleshooting and problem resolution, security, and operations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new network-related technologies, tools, and processes (e.g., firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, monitoring solutions).
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to network infrastructure management and operations.
  • Support integration with additional tools, platforms, and systems that depend on stable and secure network connectivity.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of networking trends, standards, and best practices.
  • Achieve and maintain industry-standard security or networking certifications appropriate for the position (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Security+).

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science from a recognized University considered an asset.
  • A Technical College diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and direct experience may be considered.
