Work Description

8 – 10 hours/week

$26/hour

Roles and Responsibilities

• The Lead – Communications, Social Media, and Networks reports to the Executive Director.
• The Lead – Communications, Social Media, and Networks:
• Co-leads the Communications Committee with a member of the NIED Board of Directors OR a NIED volunteer;
• Is responsible for creation and posting of social media content;
• Leads the development and dissemination of newsletters and bulletins;
• Maintains NIED’s website;
• Is responsible for NIED’s blog posts on the website (writing, reviewing, posting);
• Is responsible for increasing NIED’s social media presence and reach;
• Supports staff with digital workspace platform applications (shared files, emails, etc.);
• Leads and works collaboratively with NIED’s Communications Committee; and,
• Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and, as required, other committee meetings directly related to the work.

Qualifications & Attributes

• 1+ years’ experience with creating social media content.
• Creative and strategic thinker with experience executing content creation, media planning, and social/digital design.
• Experience in website design and content creation.
• Experience designing with Canva or other photo/video editing applications.
• Strong understanding of media consumption habits along with target audiences and devising strategies that engage, inform, and drive the business.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong collaborative and networking skills.
• Strong research skills.
