Job Designation: Counsellor (Psychologist)

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and compassionate Counsellor (Psychologist) to support the mental health and well-being of undergraduate students. The role involves providing individual and group counselling, applying evidence-based psychotherapies, and conducting workshops on mental health and wellness. The ideal candidate should be empathetic, ethical, and experienced in handling student-related concerns, including addiction issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face counselling to students on campus
  • Offer online counselling sessions as required
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
  • Apply evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy
  • Support students dealing with emotional, academic, and behavioural challenges, including addictions
  • Organize and conduct workshops, webinars, and awareness programs on mental health topics
  • Participate in crisis intervention and management when needed
  • Develop and facilitate mental health content and programs
  • Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions, including monthly client intake and documentation
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards in all counselling practices
  • Strong understanding of psychological counselling techniques and mental health issues
  • Ability to apply psychotherapies in real-life scenarios
  • High level of empathy, integrity, and professionalism

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology (full-time) with specialization in Clinical or Counselling Psychology from a reputed institute

Professional Certifications

  • Certified in counselling courses from a recognized/prestigious institute
  • Certification and supervised training in CBT and REBT (preferably under experts associated with the Albert Ellis Institute or equivalent)

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of practical experience in counselling
  • Experience working with undergraduate or university-level students
  • Proven experience in handling sensitive issues with confidentiality
  • Experience in conducting workshops on mental health topics
