Job Description

As a Network Engineer at IT Services Organization, you will play a crucial role in managing the 24x7 Network Operation Center (NOC) operations to ensure optimal performance and availability of network services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing advanced network troubleshooting for routing, packet loss, DNS, VPN, load balancers, and firewall issues
  • Overseeing AWS and Azure cloud networking, including VPC/VNet configurations, routing, and VPN setups
  • Taking ownership of incidents, ensuring timely escalation and resolution, particularly for critical P1/P2 incidents
  • Implementing and maintaining network security measures such as firewalls, WAF, VPNs, and NSG/SG
  • Utilizing monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk, and Grafana to maintain service health and performance
  • Collaborating with teams to document network incidents, resolutions, and best practices
  • Supporting continuous improvement of network operations, monitoring, and automation processes

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Hands-on expertise in network operations and L2/L3 troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, LAN/WAN technologies, including Cisco LAN switches and routers
  • Experience managing cloud networking infrastructure in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
  • Advanced skills in network security operations: firewalls, WAF, VPN, NSG/SG
  • Proficiency in monitoring and alerting tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk, and Grafana
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis for network incidents, especially P1/P2 issues
  • Experience in managing NOC operations to ensure high availability and service continuity
  • Knowledge of VPN setup, DNS, load balancers, and VPC/VNet configurations
  • Strong incident management and escalation handling skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams for incident resolution and infrastructure improvement
