About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Power Plant Engineering to join our team in Delta, BC on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Senior Manager is responsible for leading the power plant engineering function, overseeing engine maintenance programs, and ensuring technical standards, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives align with customer requirements and corporate objectives. This role is accountable for departmental leadership, engineering strategy, technical support, and budget performance while driving engine reliability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
More specifically, your main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing and coordinating the daily activities of the power plant engineering department to achieve operational and strategic objectives
- Leading recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives for the engineering team
- Establishing and amending engine maintenance workscopes based on customer requirements and engine history
- Investigating in-service engine discrepancies and recommending corrective maintenance actions
- Liaising with engine manufacturers and customers to resolve technical issues and implement effective solutions
- Coordinating technical and procedural standards for engine testing, repair, and overhaul operations
- Developing, reviewing, and approving technical documentation, including technical orders, MRBs, and deviation handling processes
- Providing technical support to engine maintenance, repair, overhaul, testing, and engine trend monitoring activities
- Managing SB/AD baselines and supporting engine management programs to maximize reliability and on-wing life
- Driving continuous improvement and lean management initiatives while monitoring departmental KPIs and performance metrics
- Collaborating cross-functionally with internal departments to streamline engineering support during shop visits and operational activities
- Participating in global functional groups and continuous improvement networks to leverage best practices and operational synergies
More About You
To qualify, you will need a Master of Engineering Degree with 5+ years of leadership experience and 5+ years of engineering experience within the aviation industry, or a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (B.Eng.) with 5+ years of leadership experience and 8+ years of engineering experience within the aviation industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience leading continuous improvement and lean management initiatives will also be essential.
Additionally, the following would be strong assets for this position:
- Advanced knowledge of aviation engineering standards, engine management, and maintenance programs
- Strong understanding of SAP engineering functions, engineering IT systems, and engineering-based software applications
- Experience supporting engine testing, repair, overhaul, and engine trend monitoring activities
- Knowledge of aviation regulations, airworthiness standards, and quality requirements within the aerospace industry
- Proven ability to manage departmental budgets, KPIs, and operational performance metrics
- Additional language capabilities considered an asset
