Job Summary: The Financial Data Analytics & Process Automation Analyst supports the Department of Defense Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) program by designing, developing, and sustaining data analytics and automation solutions that enhance audit readiness, financial insight, and operational efficiency. This role focuses on leveraging data analytics, visualization, and automation technologies to streamline financial and audit processes and improve data-driven decision-making. The analyst collaborates with financial, audit, and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable analytical and automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analytics & Visualization:

  • Develop and maintain data analytics dashboards and reports supporting FIAR and audit readiness activities.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and risks within financial and audit data.
  • Support development of analytics to improve control effectiveness and audit outcomes.

Process Automation:

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual financial, audit, and reporting processes.
  • Design, build, and maintain process automation solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support testing, deployment, and sustainment of automation solutions.

Audit & Financial Support:

  • Support audit teams with data analytics and automated testing solutions.
  • Assist in responding to auditor inquiries related to analytics methodologies and outputs.
  • Support sustainment of analytics and automation across audit cycles.

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements:

  • Collaborate with financial, audit, and IT stakeholders to gather analytics and automation requirements.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Provide user support, training, and documentation for analytics tools.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain documentation for analytics models, automation workflows, and data sources.
  • Support preparation of briefings, metrics, and status reports for Government leadership.
  • Ensure solutions comply with Government security, data governance, and quality standards.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial data analytics, audit analytics, process automation, or DoD financial management support.
  • Experience supporting audit readiness, FIAR initiatives, or federal financial programs is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with large financial and transactional data sets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with process automation tools (e.g., RPA, scripting, workflow automation).
  • Ability to translate business and audit requirements into technical solutions.

Anticipation: Montcure is currently bidding on the task order and has an anticipated award date in February

Career Level Alignment:

  • Junior Analyst: 2–4 years analytics or automation experience
  • Mid-Level Analyst: 5–7 years analytics and automation experience
  • Senior Analyst: 8+ years leading analytics and automation initiatives
