By joining our team, you will become part of a very small pool of scientists with the privilege to conduct cutting edge research on tissues and organs. At AnaBios we will give you the opportunity to study the pathophysiology of human diseases, instead of artificial animal models. On a daily basis, you will be engaged in fascinating experiments involving the isolation, culture and interrogation of live human neurons, hepatocytes, cardiomyocytes isolated from donors and live human tissues precision cut slices. These studies are the new frontier in the discovery of new treatments for chronic pain, neurodegeneration, liver, and cardiac diseases.
Education and Experience
- B.S. in Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or a related life science field required
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience in academia, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical research preferred
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques required.
- Experience with ELISA, biochemical assays, and sample processing preferred.
- Experience working with primary human tissues, organotypic cultures, precision-cut tissue slices, or ex vivo models preferred.
- Experience with data analysis software (GraphPad Prism, Excel) preferred.
Job Summary
- Support Services business and internal drug discovery.
- Surgical procedures and tissue collection activities involving humans organs
- Primary cell culture/drug treatment/media change.
- Support tissue viability, functional, and inflammatory endpoint assessments.
- Perform ELISA, and other biochemical assays to evaluate tissue responses.
- Assist in the development, optimization, validation, and execution of new ex vivo assays and experimental workflows. Drug testing involving the effects of drugs on various human cells and tissues.
- Maintain technical records and analyze experimental data using appropriate software tools.
- Maintain the inventories of supplies and stocks for laboratory use by requesting and re-stocking supplies.
- Operate and maintain standard laboratory instruments (i.e. pH meters, hot plate/stirrer, osmometer, analytical balances, etc.)
- Process biological samples, test articles, reagents/solutions, buffers, and culture media for experimental testing by the service and R&D teams.
- Non-hazardous laboratory waste disposal.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team or a cross-functional department to achieve project goals
- Research / read scientific literature as needed to perform laboratory work or as directed by the supervisor.
- Wash/clean glassware and dispose of biohazards material on various occasions.
- Develop and/or follow SOPs.
