Powered by AI. Backed by real humans.

About the client

This B2B SaaS company develops a workforce management platform that optimizes hiring processes through team alignment and structured decision-making.

The system focuses on upstream coordination to help organizations reduce hiring friction and improve talent acquisition outcomes.

By providing a data-driven approach to organizational design, the platform enables companies to make faster, more consistent hiring decisions while enhancing the overall candidate experience.

About the Role

This is a fractional engineering leadership position focused on bridging backend infrastructure with frontend requirements for an MVP.

You will own the technical architecture, infrastructure management, and security protocols while mentoring a small team of junior developers.

As a key technical contributor, you will influence the product roadmap and ensure the scalability of the core platform and its supporting web presence.

Your impact will be measured by the successful deployment of secure, multi-tenant features and the efficiency of the development pipeline.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and extend a Node.js-based API focusing on authentication, role-based access control, and background processing.
  • Architect and manage cloud infrastructure including serverless containers, relational databases, and secret management.
  • Establish and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for staging and production environments.
  • Implement security protocols such as row-level security, audit logging, and rate limiting within a multi-tenant environment.
  • Manage database schema migrations and optimize query performance using an ORM.
  • Review code from junior developers and provide technical mentorship to ensure high quality standards.
  • Collaborate on the product roadmap by proposing technical tickets and architectural improvements for the MVP development cycle.
  • 10 - 20 hours per week

What You Bring

  • Proven experience with NestJS or similar TypeScript-based backend frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience managing Google Cloud Platform services, including Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Secret Manager.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL, specifically regarding schema design and row-level security.
  • Experience with Prisma or similar ORMs for code-first migration workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up containerized CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architecture and data isolation patterns.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with message brokers like Pub/Sub or Redis for asynchronous job queues.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM API integration patterns.
  • Background in building or auditing consent management and logging systems.
