GTA | In-Office / Hybrid (Firm Dependent)

We’re working with a mid-sized, full-service firm in the GTA looking to add a Senior Family Lawyer to its growing group.

This is a strong platform for someone who wants real file ownership, consistent advocacy work, and the ability to build within a supportive structure — without getting boxed in.

The Role

➡ Run a full caseload of family law matters (divorce, custody/access, support, property/equalization) end-to-end

➡ Draft pleadings, financial statements, affidavits, conference briefs, motion materials, and separation agreements

➡ Appear regularly before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice

➡ Lead case conferences, settlement conferences, and trial management conferences

➡ Handle contested motions and negotiate resolutions

➡ Take matters through to trial where required

➡ Work through financial issues: disclosure, income analysis, support calculations, business valuations

➡ Engage in mediation and arbitration processes

➡ Collaborate with tax, estates, and corporate groups on more complex / HNW matters

What They’re Looking For

➡ 5+ years’ Ontario family law experience

➡ Strong command of the Family Law Rules, Divorce Act, and Family Law Act

➡ Proven ability to run files independently from intake through resolution / trial

➡ Comfortable in court: conferences, motions, advocacy

➡ Strong drafting across both litigation materials and agreements

➡ Experience with complex financial issues is a strong asset

➡ Partial or full portable practice is an asset (not required at all firms)

➡ Interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to growth
