Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Midland Transport is currently seeking a Class 1 Yard Shunt Driver based in Truro, NS. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, great and positive attitude with a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.
Main Role:
Manage time and ensure accurate and timely movement of the trailer in and out of the Terminal doors. Also dock work when needed.
Shift: Sun-Thurs (12am-8:30am)

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Moving trailers within the terminal safely and efficiently.
- Refuel refrigerated units as required.
- Perform routine checks on the reefers and conduct yard checks.
- Maintain company equipment standards.
- Ensure timely movement of trailers to assigned locations.
- Communicate efficiently with the Supervisor.
- Report any incident, accident, injury, damage immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education Required: High School or GED.
- Class 1 driver's license with a minimum of 2 years' safe tractor driving experience required.
- Clean driver's abstract and criminal search.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift to 75 lbs. using the proper equipment.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Safety conscious.
