Summary
We’re looking for a User Experience Designer who can help us turn product vision into intuitive, modern experiences, spanning chat, in product assistants, and insight surfaces.
Taking direction from the CMO, you’ll play an integral role in designing UX for our AI capabilities, partnering tightly with Product Management and R&D (incl. AI/ML). This is a high impact role for a builder who has shipped AI experiences in production SaaS. It will be a contract position, with the potential for a full-time role.
Responsibilities
- Define UX strategy & principles
for Messagepoint
- Design core surfaces
- Prototype at multiple fidelities
(lofi maps, service blueprints, high-fidelity Figma prototypes with realistic data and micro interactions).
- Operationalize trust & safety in the UI
: handle uncertainty, show citations/sources, preview actions, require approvals, and make outcomes reversible.
- Evolve our design system
to support AI patterns (states, streaming, loading, error/repair flows, suggestion affordances, design tokens).
- Partner with AI/ML
to align UX with solution capabilities and constraints.
- Champion accessibility & enterprise readiness
: WCAG 2.2 AA, internationalization, RBAC, privacy/compliance touchpoints.
Technical Requirements:
- AI UX expertise with shipped work
in production SaaS (preferably B2B/enterprise), including at least 2 end-to-end AI features live with real users.
- Figma power user
: components/variants, Auto Layout, component properties, design tokens, prototyping for complex, stateful flows.
- Advanced prototyping
: interactive prototypes that simulate streaming responses, agent steps, approvals, and errors using Figma prototyping. Ability to spec motion and export to Lottie when needed.
- Accessibility
: designs that meet WCAG 2.2 AA, including keyboard navigation, focus management for chat/command UIs, ARIA patterns, and contrast.
- Data + insight UX
: information architecture for complex data, explainable charts (time‑series, anomalies), progressive disclosure, empty/error/partial states.
- Agentic AI constraints awareness
(you don’t need to code models):
- LLM limitations (context windows, hallucinations, prompt sensitivity)
- Tool/function calling and multi‑step plans; RAG and embeddings basics
- Latency & streaming UX, fallbacks, and cost/quality trade-offs
- Approval/undo patterns, sandbox/simulation, and auditability
- Enterprise SaaS patterns
: multitenant/RBAC, admin vs. end-user views, audit logs, GDPR/CCPA touchpoints, security by design collaboration.
- Research craft
: plan and run evaluative tests (task-based, SUS/UMUXLite), unmoderated studies, card sorts/tree tests; synthesize findings into direction.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in Product/UX Design with 1+ years on AI-powered experiences (in shipped SaaS products, ideally for products used within regulated industries.
- Portfolio of case studies that quantify impact (e.g., adoption %, time to success, support ticket reduction, workflow completion rate).
- Clear systems thinking: can model end-to-end journeys, backstage orchestration, and edge cases for safety and governance.
