Position: Data Engineer

Type: Contract

Compensation: $60–$80/hour

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Design and execute data collection studies with research and product teams to gather high-quality biosensor data.
• Monitor and maintain large datasets, implementing robust data validation and cleaning processes for sensor streams like IMU, EMG, and optical sensors.
• Debug and troubleshoot firmware and software issues to ensure reliable data acquisition from hardware sensors.
• Optimize distributed compute workflows for metric computation and analysis across large datasets.
• Build and maintain custom benchmarking tools and frameworks to evaluate and compare model performance on large datasets.
• Leverage data visualization to aid decision-making.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with data extraction, manipulation, and visualization using Python and SQL.
• Experience with hardware sensors and data collection infrastructure.
• Experience with signal processing for time domain signals and/or medical imaging systems.
• Experience managing large, high-dimensional datasets.
• Strong debugging skills for data acquisition and firmware/software interfaces.
• Experience with Javascript/Typescript for front-end UI development.
• Experience with scientific computing packages like NumPy, SciPy, Pandas.
• Experience with data visualization libraries such as Matplotlib, Pyplot, Seaborn, ggplot2.
