Description

MELE is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in Rockville, MD. The Systems Administrator series is responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of the MELE Associates IT infrastructure. This role balances foundational technical support with high-level architectural planning, focusing on maximizing system uptime through proactive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting. By strategically implementing hardware and software upgrades, the position ensures a reliable and secure technological environment that supports the organization’s overall operational goals

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide support of assigned systems through trouble shooting and resolving hardware/software, and connectivity problems
  • Maintain assigned systems including customization, configuration, installation, and testing
  • Act as a knowledge expert for assigned systems and distributed applications
  • Collaborate with IT customers to ensure issues related to assigned systems are communicated appropriately
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
  • Install, configure, and support complex server-based systems
  • Recommends and administers security and support policies
  • Create complex scripts to assist with monitoring systems, diagnostics, problem correction and automating routine tasks
  • Configure systems for high availability including strategies for back-up and recovery and load balancing
  • Create, follow, and maintain written and verbal procedures; prepares written technical documentation, training
  • material, standards, reports and other documents assigned
  • Prepared and reviews reports for accuracy
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+.
  • Systems Knowledge: Proficient in Windows Servers, Desktop O/S, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Infrastructure: Deep understanding of server hardware, operating systems, and software.
  • Network Management: Ability to design, install, maintain, and document network hardware and software.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and a professional appearance.
  • Committed to sustaining company reputation and public image.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for work-related tasks.
  • Systems Administrator: 4+ years of experience with IT maintenance and technical support required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.

LOCATION: This is a on-site position in Rockville, MD

SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. The range for this position is $80K-$100K.
