The Opportunity: Mentorship & Growth
In this entry-level role, you won't be flying solo. You’ll work under the guidance of our Director of Operations and senior technical team to master the art of generator maintenance and repair. Your goal is to demonstrate steady progression toward independently troubleshooting and diagnosing complex power systems.
What You’ll Do (With Our Support)
- Learn the Basics: Assist with routine preventative maintenance, operational readiness, and load bank testing on diesel, natural gas, propane, and bi-fuel units.
- Troubleshooting Support: Shadow senior techs to learn how to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on-site.
- Emergency Response: Join our 24/7, 365-day emergency response rotation to learn how to handle high-pressure situations.
- Precision Documentation: Practice professional reporting by completing service reports and repair recommendations within 48 hours of job completion.
- Safety Mastery: Gain a deep understanding of CSA C282 standards for Life Safety Generators and adhere to all company safety protocols.
- Asset Care: Learn to safely operate and maintain professional equipment, including a company-supplied vehicle and high-end tools like Fluke meters.
Requirements: The Fundamentals
- Education: High school diploma (OSSD) with a focus on math or physics; a college diploma in Power, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is a major plus.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract are mandatory.
- Compliance: Ability to pass criminal background checks and drug/alcohol testing as required by customer sites.
- Health & Safety: Adherence to our mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all customer-facing staff.
- The "Right Stuff": Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and a genuine desire to learn and grow within the power generation industry.
