Oil and Gas Landman

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Landman to join our Acquisition team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our Appalachian Basin operations, responsible for securing oil and gas leases. If you possess a deep understanding of West Virginia property law, have a strong network in the region, and are committed to ethical land practices, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiation: Negotiate oil and gas leases, surface use agreements, and right-of-way (ROW) agreements with landowners, ensuring terms align with company objectives.
• Curative Work: Drafting Leases and Associated documents, ensuring signed documents are complete and acurate
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date lease files, ownership reports, and digital project databases [mention software if you use it, e.g., LandWorks, GIS, or Excel].
• Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for local landowners, addressing inquiries and building long-term, positive relationships within the community.
• Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to West Virginia state regulations and company safety/environmental standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in oil and gas land work, specifically within the Appalachian Basin.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in document preparation. Familiarity with Excel, Word, Google Sheets, Microsoft Windows.
• Professionalism: Proven ability to handle sensitive negotiations with integrity, diplomacy, and tact.
• Mobility: Ability to travel to various counties and meet with landowners in Northern / Western West Virginia.
• Certifications: Optional: Active membership in the AAPL or local affiliate (Appalachian Association of Professional Landmen) is highly preferred; CPL/RPL designation is a plus.
• Notary: Must have a valid West Virginia Notary Stamp.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Work Location: On the road
