As the Director of Marketing for an orthopedic manufacturer, your role would involve developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote your company's orthopedic products and services.

Essential Functions Statements(s)
- Marketing Strategy: Create a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. This includes identifying target markets, positioning the brand, and developing marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
- Product Marketing: Collaborate with product management team to understand the features, benefits, and unique selling points of orthopedic products. Build go-to-market strategy for Freedom® Knee and Libertas® Hip product lines, including surgeon-facing clinical messaging, patient education materials, and digital campaigns tied to Pursue Life ®. Work with Product Management on new product launches.
- Digital Marketing: Oversee the digital marketing efforts, including website development and optimization, search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing, email marketing, social media marketing, and online advertising campaigns. Leverage digital channels to generate leads, engage with customers, and enhance brand visibility.
- Brand Management: Maintain a strong and consistent brand image for the company and its products. Develop brand guidelines, ensure brand compliance across all marketing materials, and manage brand messaging and positioning.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide them with the necessary marketing materials and sales tools. Support sales efforts by creating presentations, brochures, case studies, and other collateral that effectively communicate the value proposition of the orthopedic products.
- Trade Shows and Events: Own Maxx's presence at AAOS, AAHKS, and regional orthopedic meetings - from strategy and booth design to post-event ROI analysis
- Marketing Analytics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives. Utilize analytics tools to track and analyze marketing data, such as website traffic, conversion rates, and ROI. Use these insights to optimize marketing strategies and tactics.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate relationships with sales force, internal team, key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders. Collaborate with them on educational programs, research collaborations, and other initiatives to enhance the company's reputation and influence in the orthopedic field.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all marketing activities comply with relevant regulatory guidelines, such as FDA regulations, HIPAA, and other industry-specific regulations.
- Direct-to-Patient Marketing: Develop and execute DTC campaigns - including digital, social, print, and co-branded physician marketing programs - to drive patient awareness and consultation requests for joint replacement.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Required Skills/Abilities:
- 8–10 yrs experience, preferably in health care industry
- Experience: Significant experience in marketing, preferably in the healthcare or medical device industry, is typically required. This may include previous roles in marketing management, product marketing, brand management, or related positions. Experience specifically in orthopedics or medical devices is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Orthopedics: An understanding of orthopedic products, procedures, and the healthcare industry is essential. Familiarity with orthopedic implants, prosthetics, surgical instruments, and related technologies would help to effectively communicate the value of your company's products and target the appropriate audience.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and innovative thinking and planning skills are crucial for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies. This involves the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, make data-driven decisions, and think outside the box to achieve marketing objectives.
- Brand Management: Proven experience in managing and developing brands is important. You should possess a thorough understanding of brand positioning, brand identity, and brand equity, and be able to maintain a consistent brand image across various marketing channels.
- Digital Marketing Expertise: In today's digital age, expertise in digital marketing is essential. This includes knowledge of website development, SEO, content marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, online advertising, and analytics tools. Familiarity with marketing automation software like HubSpot and CRM systems is also advantageous.
- Leadership and Team Management: As a director, you should have strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a marketing team. This involves setting goals, providing guidance, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively conveying messages to internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers. You should be able to create persuasive marketing materials, deliver compelling presentations, and engage with various audiences.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are necessary to gather and interpret market data, track marketing performance, and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in using analytics tools and interpreting metrics is important for measuring the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Must have a proficient working knowledge of AI.
