Job Description

As the Director of Services at our property, your primary responsibility will be to manage housekeeping functions and staff to ensure that guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean and well-maintained. You will oversee Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry departments and work closely with your team to ensure smooth operations. Your goal will be to enhance guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of the department by maintaining standards and procedures.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the Front Office for effective communication on operational issues.
  • Assign work tasks by obtaining lists of rooms to be cleaned immediately and prospective check-outs or discharges.
  • Monitor and manage inventory to ensure an adequate supply of cleaning materials.
  • Ensure cleanliness of guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas according to operating standards.
  • Enforce compliance with housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain an effective inspection program covering various areas within the property.
  • Supervise and approve budgeting and ordering of guestroom and cleaning supplies.
  • Educate staff on the department's impact on the property's financial goals.
  • Review operating statements, budget worksheets, and payroll reports to manage operational costs.
  • Keep the team focused on operational aspects to enhance guest satisfaction and financial outcomes.
  • Control departmental expenses and cost per occupied room to meet or exceed budget goals.
  • Respond effectively to guest problems and complaints.
  • Include guest satisfaction in departmental meetings for continuous improvement.
  • Empower employees to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Set goals and expectations for managers and acknowledge team contributions.
  • Address employee concerns based on satisfaction results.
  • Communicate expectations, recognize performance, and drive business results.
  • *Qualifications Required:**
  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Alternatively, a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with no prior work experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost control.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and employee relations effectively.
